Tones
Tone is the lightness, brightness or value of a patch in a photograph: dark tones correspond to shadows, light tones correspond to bright or highlight areas.
In this photo, there is shown to be a old run down building surrounded by scaffolding and rubbish. This photo does have tone because the sepia colour creates the lightness of the selected bricks but also sky correspond to the darkness of the scaffolding, floor and other brinks and windows. The positive point of this photo is that the corresponding effects of the dark tones and light tones creates the photo to become more outstanding against plain photos, this photo also seems to give the audience a realistic effect as it seems to make them feel that the audience are really standing amongst it. The negative point of this photo is the scaffolding bars show along the top of the photo above the building. This is a negative factor because it becomes the eye focus point of the photo. An improvement I would make to this photo is by cropping the scaffolding bars from the photo.
In this photo, there is shown to be a young girl with curly hair standing out against the black background, the girl is also shown to wear a black shiny materialised dress with stands out a bit more from the normal black background. The positive point of this photo is by using the sepia faintly upon the subject instead of the background, the young girl shows a young innocence but also gives the feel of an old fashioned photo to the audience. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point to reveal as the photo fits the criteria of a toned photo. An improvement I would make to this photo is by changing the curves of the photo, to darken the sepia a little bit more as then the colour would become more revealing to the audience.

In this photo, there is shown to be a rough and dirty dog standing in front of an old run down shack. The paleness of the dog stands out against the darkness of the wood. This photo was also taken at a low level angle but in sepia. The positive point of this photo is that it uses sepia upon the whole photo lightly to show the tones. This is a positive factor because it creates the focus point upon the dog as it shows different interpretations to the audience, but also gives the photo an olden day feel to it, just like the time when camera were first invented. The negative point of this photo is that the focus point switches between the contrast of tones of the dog to the corner of the wood by the door, this is a negative factor because it can confuse the audience on where too look. An improvement I would make to this photo is by using the contrast tool to lighten the image a little more.
In this photo, there is shown to be a young women dressed in black, holding a violin. Even though this photo is in colour unlike most photos which show tone, this photo shows the tone between the paleness of her skin to the blackness of her shoes and dress but also the colour of the violin, to the colour of the run down background behind her. The positive point of this photo is that the colour of the violin shows most of the contrast of the tone with the background, this is a positive factor because it creates the photo too look more unique than most as even with the colour turned on, the photo can still show contrast of tones. The negative point of this photo is that the background shadows in the corner draw the attention away from the violin, this is a negative factor because it creates the audience to believe that the reason for the photo is for the shadows taking over. Different interpretations from the audience to the photographer on the reason why this photo was chosen. The improvement I would make to this photo is by cropping the side of the photo more to remove most of the shadows taking away the focus point.
In this photo, there is shown to be a faint sepia image of a wedding couple in the corner by the sea, the veil is also show to blow down towards the lens of the camera as the both move extremely close together. The contrasts of tones shown in this photo would be the wedding dress of the bride against the suit of the groom, but also the sky against the dark sea. The positive point of this photo is that by the contrasting of the tones, the interpretations make the photo eye-catching and interesting. This is a positive factor because the audience can interpret the the bride in her pale white dress to represent the sky while the groom in his dark suit would represent the stormy sea. This tells a story about how they both will always work together e.t.c. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point to reveal and it does not need any improvements made to it.
In this photo there is show to be a black and white image of a slightly foggy forest. tHe trees are shown to vary size ad shape but also stand out darker against the lighter ground and white mist in the background. This is the tones of the photo. The positive point of this photo is that the trees are eye catching with the faint white mist shown in the background, this is a positive factor because it makes the photo feel realistic and gives the horror scene feel to the audiences atmosphere. This photo also gives the expectations of something that will happen. The negative point of this photo is that the photo can be shown to be a little too basic, this is a negative factor because the photo can be seen as 'un-interesting' and too basic for the audience. The improvement I would make to this photo is by cloning something dark from a horror film behind the trees to continue to the contrast of tones but also make the photo more unique and outstanding.
