The dictionary definition of colour:
That aspect of things that is caused by differing qualities of the light reflected or emitted by them, definable in terms of the observer or of the light, as:
a. The appearance of objects or light sources described in terms of the individual's perception of them, involving hue, lightness, and saturation for objects and hue, brightness, and saturation for light sources.
b. The characteristics of light by which the individual is made aware of objects or light sources through the receptors of the eye, described in terms of dominant wavelength, luminance, and purity.
Describing words:
Light. Dark. Neon. Vivid. Intense. Cool. Warm. Vibrant. Bleak. Blended. Blotchy. Bold.
My own definition of colour:
Colour is the lightness and darkness of a light source, this light source creates a different light which is neither black (dark) or white (light). This is colour. It can also be used to contrast against others to create either a happy photo or a depressive photo.
Annotated photographs of colour:

In this photo, there is shown to be a close up photo of a women's face. This women's face varies between strips of colour which all stand out. Her hair is also red while her eye is light blue, causing more contrast between it all. By smiling, the colours resemble happiness and excitement. The positive point of this photo is that by using so many colours, but also a close up shot on this smiling women's face, all the colours contrast and give a happy vibe to the audience. This is known to be a positive factor because it can cause a happy atmosphere and tell different stories to the audience e.g. gay pride to one while another it could be childhood memories. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point to reveal. An improvement I would make to this photo is by applying a darker contrast and curves to create the colours to stand out even more.

In this photo, there is shown to be two different coloured converses in the position of a ballerina pose. The socks are also shown to stand out in neon colours. The positive point of this photo is by pulling this ballerina pose while the shoes contrast in neon colours with each other by also the socks wore creates a focus point. This is a positive factor because having a focus point, pulls in the audience but also catches their attention. The negative point of this photo is that at the bottom of the photo, the floor is slightly blurred. This is a negative factor because the attention automatically gets pulled onto the out of focused photo. An improvement I would make to this photo would be simply to use the crop tool and remove the out of focused line.

In this photo, there is shown to be the tips of a box of crayons. The back of this photo is also gaussian blurred. Among the bunch of colour used in the photo, depth can be seen through the gaussian blur as the crayons move further and further away from the camera lens. The positive point of this photo is that by using the gaussian blur the colours of the front of the crayon box stands out clearly. This is a positive factor because it reminds the audience of their childhood when they enjoyed sing all these varieties of colours. The negative point of this photo is that the reflection on the table draws away the focus from the colour of the crayons, this is a negative factor because it means that the photo does not keep up to its expectations of the reason the photo was taken. An improvement I would make to this photo would be to darken the table underneath the crayons to remove the reflection.
In this photo, there is shown to be a vary of coloured leaves against each other against a background of dark brown leaves. Each leaf also seems to represent the bright colour becoming darker into a red from a green. This creates a focus point for the audience. The positive point of this photo is that the coloured leaves are still kept natural against a dark background which is also natural. This is a positive factor because it creates a more interesting and unseen image which has no deal with man made objects or colours created. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point to reveal. An improvement I would make to this photo is by applying darker curves to the background alone to keep the colour outstanding.
Work Diary:
In todays photography session, we had to shoot colour. I found that by wanting to continue taking 'perfect' photos of colour, it was hard to produce as many photos as other topics. I found this topic easy but hard at the same time, this is because I tried producing photos of colour that can be noticed and pointed out by the audience instead of scenery. The positive factor of todays session is that I have learnt that by taking close up shots of objects with bright and vibrant colours, the easier it is for the audience to point out that the topic is colour.
This photo is my first selected photo that I have taken and edited. In this photo, we can see a close up shot of the subjects hair. The colours in this range from a dark brown to a light green to then a vibrant blue. But having all these colours mixed into one and in a close up shot, the focus point becomes easier to find. The positive point of this photo is that the mixes of colour cause the photo to stand out and really draw in the attention to the blue colour, this is a positive factor because it causes the eyes to only focus and keep attention to the bright colours. The negative point of this photo is that the hair can be a bit basic with just colour, this is a negative factor because it can create people to become uninterested in the photo itself. An improvement I would make to this photo is by converting it to black and white before using the rubber tool to replace the colour on the tips of the subjects hair.
This photo is my second selected photo that I have taken and edited. In this photo, we can see a close up shot of a mosaic sun that is based around many colours. All the individual pieces also show shape as well as a lot of colour. The colours also show the strong colours of the sun. The positive point of this photo is that the colours stand out extremely clearly, this is a positive factor because the colours really stand out in peoples faces and gives a attaching feel to it as if the audience could not look away. I believe that this photo does not have an improvement or negative point to reveal.
Further development:
For further development, I would take more photos of mosaic patterns which reveal a lot of colour, this then shows a variety of colours and interesting photos unlike the first selected photo I have chosen. I would like too also use the second selected photo and create a repetition of the mosaic pattern and print.
