Studio One.

Studio One
In todays session, we had to use the studio to take pictures but also to learn how to change the background colour to completely black with shadowing or use a plain background. Out of the whole session, I took a better preference to my shadowing work for my selected photographs. I found use the studio hard to use with the lighting e.t.c for my first go of using the new equipment. I would practise further in the future to get a better quality in future studio photographs.

My two selected photographs:

In this photograph, we can see a side shot of a young girls face with a completely black background. The shadows are also shown to come across the right side of her face to show the three dimensional appearance. With her hair being so dark, her skin and coat is shown to glow more than the rest of the photograph. The positive point of this photograph is that her skin stands out with a slight glow, this is a positive factor because it draws in the audiences eyes onto her emotional facial expression. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point to reveal. An improvement that can be made to this photograph is to apply a soft focus onto the models face, to create a softer appearance to the photograph  itself.

In this photograph we can see another side shot of a young models face. With this photograph, the shadowing is shown to be falling from the right hand side of the photograph and across the right hand side of the model's facial structure, one again showing the three dimensional structure. The positive point of this photograph is the shadowing upon the models facial structure, this is a positive factor because it really creates the models face to stand out well, catching any passers by's attention. The negative point of the photograph is the colour of the lighting on the models skin, this is a negative factor because by haing the lighting to strong on the models face, the photo becomes unrealistic and too blunt for the audience to interpret. An improvement I would make to this photograph, is to use the hue and saturation tool, before toning the colour down to a more colder and natural colour.

Further improvement:
For my further improvements for a computer experiment, I would like to use the second photograph to duplicate and change the opacity level before being placed upon a storm. This picture can then be changed quickly into a movie poster to create a advertisement.
