Patterns.

Patterns
A pattern is a mixture of lines and colour to create more shapes. These patterns can either be man made e.g. Building bricks placed together or natural e.g. lines on a tree trunk.

This photo reveals the pattern of bricks as they create a circular motion towards the middle, the bricks are shown to be the same squares following this position. The middle of the circular motion and pattern of squares is the eye focus point. The positive point of this photo is that the centre of the pattern is the eye focus point, this is a positive factor because the audience are then automatically drawn into the pattern as they can relate this back to old child hood memories of the 'yellow brick road'. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point or improvement which can be revealed.

This photo reveals the pattern of lines on the leaves in a bush. In this photo, we can see many leaves placed onto other leaves as the pattern is shown through the black and white colour. The positive point of this photo is that the black and white colour was used to reveal the pattern, this is a positive factor because the lines that are all similar are shown to the audience clearly but also draw the audience in. The negative point of this photo is that the brightness of the pattern against the darkness can really disinterest the audience as the colours would be too bright for them to be able to focus on the photo properly. An improvement I would make to this photo, would be to darken the brightness and contrast levels of this photo.

This photo reveals the patterns of a butterflies wings. In this photo, we can see the side profile of a butterfly's wing as the pattern is shown to be circles, dots and curved lines. The wing of this butterfly stands out clearly against the background which is shown as a neutral green. The positive point of this photo is that the background is neutral, which means the butterfly stands out, this is a positive factor because the focus point would then be lead straight onto the patterns of the wing which is only ever seen close up when the audience would rarely have a butterfly land on them or beside them. I believe that this photo does not have a negative point or improvement to reveal.

This photo reveals the pattern of a zebras skin. In this photo we can see the close up shot of a zebras skin as the pattern is the lines which are formed across the body. This is a rare sight as many pattern photos are based on cheetahs and leopard fur. The positive point of this photo is that the the photo is a close up shot of a zebras skin, this is a positive factor because more of the audience would be interested in seeing a rare shot of pattern than any other normal and everyday pattern shot. The negative point of this photo is that the photo does not stand out against the audiences faces, this is a negative factor because the audience would then not notice the pattern of the zebra or the photo. An improvement I would make to this photo, would be too use the brightness and contrast tool to lighten the skin of the zebra.

This photo shows us the pattern of a 'zebra crossing' as the lines are shown to be the same size and printed one after another, leaving a black line between each of them. The positive point of this photo is that the brightness of the lines stands out against the darkness of the black, this is a positive factor because it draws in the audience as they would remember the games they played as young children on this pattern every time they crossed the road. The negative point of this photo is that the drain placed between the two white lines pulls away the focus point and attention from the pattern, this is a negative factor because the photo would then be placed under the 'shape' category rather than pattern like its meant too. An improvement I would make to this photo is to use the clone tool to place the white lines but also black centre over the drain coverer.

This photo shows us the pattern of a leopards fur. In this photo we can see a close up shot like the zebra photo, but this time of leopard's fur.  The colours of the fur itself create the black pattern to stand out more to the audience. The positive point of this photo is that the colour creates the black pattern to stand out to the audience, this is a positive factor because the audience are then drawn in by the contrast and are unable to look away. The negative point of this photo is that the audience can be unimpressed by the photo itself, this is a negative factor because it means the photo is to plain to really draw in the attention from the audience. An improvement I would make to this photo would be too place a photo of a leopards face in the centre of this photo before changing the opacity level to make the face look like it is fading in.
